 I grew up using moms round GE with the dial on the end of the handle, not immersible.. That thing lasted forever.. We bought a square domed lid GE with the removable probe sometime in the 80's and never had a problem with it but it's been sitting unused now for probably 15 years. I don't even know where it is at the moment.. somewhere in a pile behind a pile.
Last time I used an electric pan was probably about a year ago.. the really nice round Webalco oil filled one. I've also got a Hoover Tri Pan fry pan I've never used because I don't want to get it soiled HA. | ||

I think They changed to a more conventional control around 1970, I have a 70s model GE that is great. | ||
