This Electronic 90 Series Heavy Duty - Super Capacity Plus - Quiet Pak Plus washer and dryer are in excellent condition. With very little use and meticulously maintained, it is like buying a much newer model for a fraction of its cost. Elegantly styled and just as sleek in jet black as they were in 1999, don't hesitate or you'll miss out on a true gem.

Well...

They forgot to indicate whether the dryer is gas or electric in their little sales pitch.

Nice looking pair.... and Leisure World is 15 - 20 minutes away from me!

I thought about it for a minute.   But $400 is more than I'm willing to spend... especially since I already have more than 40 machines too many!

Kevin

PS... Malcolm I noticed that too!

Those are serial numbers cited, not model numbers ... but the production date does agree with 1999.

..would love this set - someday - but I would also need a less costly "opportunity".

Probably a gas dryer, seeing it has the AGA approval logo on the info label.

Direct drive washer.

Dryer has a removable access panel, which is required for gas models. Not sure if all 27" wide Whirlpool made dryers had the removable lower panel

Removable Lower Panel On Dryer

All [ gas and electric ]  27" WP built dryers had a removable lower panel during this time period.

Most manufactures went to a one piece front panel to reduce manufacturing costs and also to increase safety because users often left the lower panel off which left many moving parts exposed to say nothing of an open flame.

Gas vs. Electric

My aunt currently lives in Leisure World. I visited her there (when I visited RevinKevin) & there was no sign of gas. Unless the sellers brought the set with them when they moved to L.W. there is no reason to have a gas dryer there. Also, are you sure the washer is direct drive?

I don't think I've ever owned a 27" Whirlpool made dryer.
I fixed an electric one once, but it wasn't mine.

From what I recall about these, they should probably be a nice set. I remember someone who had a set exactly like them and they loved them. The dryer has the front opening lint filter, if I am not mistaken. It would stand to reason that it is probably a gas dryer, since they tend to be perceived as being cheaper to run.
