I hope it's not true, but I'm predicting the stress of trying to find the perfect Maytag set was too much for their busy schedule.

If I remember right, they had like 3 sets of appliances and most didn't work, and they had kids.... That can be rather stressful for some.

I wonder if they simply decided to get a new set of something, and ditch all the retro stuff.
