Hello all,
I was out used appliance hunting today and wandered into a little shop because there were some interesting things in the front window. To make a long story short, they have two Maytag electric dryers, both in almond. Some of you may know that I've been on the hunt for an almond Maytag dryer to match my washing machine. One of the two dryers is a Neptune, I believe the same model as the picture below that I found online. The other is more BOL and looks like a normal dryer. Again, see picture below found online. Both machines have mechanical dials and the Neptune also features a slider switch and several buttons. I'm going back tomorrow to purchase one of them and would like your input on which is the better machine. They're both the same price, $150. |

She's home! And on her third load. So far I absolutely love it. It's quiet, fast, and of course it color matches the washer.

It's nice to know that I am not the only one who has had one of my less than constructive posts removed by the "webmaster". |

I noticed that manbrands will lable the "normal" cycle, for example, cotton,cotton/sturdy, regular and/or just normal. Why is that? |

I see. I noticed the new GE's have several variants of the same sturdy cottons cycle, like darks whites, and light colors. Excuse me if this post is not on topic, but related. |

My mother, who generally abhors my collections of hard wearing, properly working, will-work-until-the-second-coming-of-Christ, vintage and semi-vintage appliances, has FINALLY admitted just how much she loves not only my new-to-me Neptune dryer, but how much she absolutely loves my 1993 Newton Maytag washing machine that sits next to it.
Getting the seal of approval from that crazy old bird is the ultimate compliment to any appliance! Now to locate, install, and sell her on a reverse rack Maytag JetClean replacement for the plastic tub GE in the kitchen.............. |
