I can't believe that the price on this fan has been bid up so high, with 24 bids. I must be missing something here. Sure, it's old, but look at the condition.

But the lucky winner will get $71.00 in eBay bucks!!! This reminds of the listing for an Amana Radarange that is being sold for $ 5900.00. The last I checked there were no bids on that but there are 56 watchers.

Or the $600 Chemex Automated coffee maker that everybody's watching but nobody's buying.

This fan does look to be a very early electric appliance, and this particular make must be super rare.  Or let's hope so.  Fan fans here may be able to shed some light on why this one is so special.

I've known bidders to submit bogus bids just to raise the price...

No way will I pay $3550 for a fan that looks like it was fished out of a barn after it was sitting there for who know how many years-and does it even run???For my 3 grand the fan should be NEW and work!!!!You could buy a HVAC system for this price!!!-rather than a rusted desk fan!

GE Pancake Fan

I restored this fan last year, which is similar to the eBay auction fan. So-called pancake fan because of the shape of the motor. Manufactured in 1908. 5 speeds.

Not for sale. Some items do sell for crazy prices, but I think that I would rather look at this fan instead of a potential wad of bills.

Well Fred, considering the excellent condition your fan is in, I think you'd better pursue a homeowner's insurance rider for $10K to cover it!

For that $6600 bucks----you could buy one NICE NEW Trane,Lennox or whatever brand of HVAC system!!!!Can't see WASTING that kind of money on a desk fan no matter what.
