Neat 60s Coloric Stove

Probably a year or more later than 1965 however these were fun ranges in their day, this one would have the huge Ultra-ray cast-iron broiler burner and it looks like the FL burner has a Burner-With-A-Brain control as well.

Still I would give up cooking as I know it today if I had to put up with the heat and odor and cleaning issues of having a range like this today in my house.

Standing pilot means excess heat and smell.  Not to mention a breeding ground for bugs. But they can be converted to electronic ignition.

Converting A Gas Range To electric Ignation

It is NOT EASY and can cost thousands to do it correctly, it is easier to get an electric range.

I didn't say it would be easy.    I wonder, if one had something like a working 1998 GE gas stove with electronic ignition, for example, if one could  swap out the "plumbing" system bits?  The valves and handles, ignitors, and burners.

No,,, you could not easily if at all use newer parts off a newer gas range on an older range like this Coloric range, they are very different, this is why there are no aftermarket kits for this purpose.

I am not kidding when I said it could cost many hundreds if not THOUSANDS to add electric ignition to an older gas range.
