Its not a boom Phil, in fact WP never sold a bad DW.

I've always liked the looks of that vintage.

Great dishwasher

As John said Whirlpool never made a bad dishwasher. Noisy yes, but bad no! 😊

If you notice the Energy Saver dry toggle switch, similar to the KDS17A posted today Whirlpool added this switch rather quickly during the model run in response to consumer demand. Later in production this option was integrated in the switch bank for a more seamless appearance on the control panel.

Great Dishwasher

We had that very same model Whirlpool Dishwasher and it could wash anything you put in it. It had the Super wash cycle that paused and heated the water in the first wash and last rinse. I still have the directions for that machine. I would purchase it if it was closer and sell the KitchenAid KDS17 I have, as I am not really thrilled with that machine. The Whirlpool is a much better machine that the Kitchenaid as you don't have to worry about what goes in the lower rack to block the top rack as in the Kitchenaid one arm machine.

This is a great DW, but...

If the operative word is "sold", WP did sell D&M machines in their earliest days of selling dishwashers and while the first washarm model with the Gorman-Rupp pump washed very well, it was far from trouble free.
