Who would have believed we are already a week into April?
Lets kick off with an American - Maytag Neptune. It could do with a good clean but the price is right CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

Bit of a rarity to find them with a hand wringer. This dates from August 1977 and looks in good condition. It has a heater too

Why the query? Well hot fill dishwashers are unusual here, mostly its cold fill. I have no idea who manufactured it but the Moffat by Parkinson Cowan would date it back to the 1980s I think. I know for sure it was not PC who manufactured it, they only ever made gas cookers

Yes, the AEG washing machine is indeed from the mid nineties. It's the highest end model with the lower end timer with a separate section for the delicate cycle. The 6250 and above models have the long row of push buttons with only one full programme section.
The AEG dishwasher looks of the Zanussi design. I don't know much about these AFAIK these models were never sold in the Netherlands. |

An oven this time. 1960s - rubbish - its mid 1980s.
In case it is not clear the upper over door is not hinged at the bottom but rather, it lifts up, like the doors on a Flair CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

Early 1980s. This was unusual in that it had both rotisserie (small oven) and fan oven (large oven). I think this is a tad on the expensive side

Late 1970s early 1980s I would say going by the almond colour. This styling had been going since the late 1960s

As can be seen in this Kandya kitchen - I would place this as very late 1960s or very early 1970s judging by the tiles. This style of Kandya kitchen had been in production since the late 1950s and did continue into the 1970s. Although it looks well cared for personally I would not be paying £500 for it or anything like it

I cannot comment if it is English Rose or not but I will say it looks remarkably like the kitchen in the council flat (aka public housing - probably built late 1960s) from 1977 to 1980. The "open" unit looks like it is missing doors, this could well have been made to conceal a twin tub as there is apparently no base to it

The Eumenia wasching machines were made in Austria IIRC. According to the Eudora website the machines were sold under the Eudora name after 1971. That would mean that the machine on eBay could be from before that, but I doubt that. Perhaps the Eumenia label was longer used in other countries.
To change from the wash function to the dry function, you have to turn the insert in the door. Spinning is very peculiar because it tries over and over again, balance is an issue because there is no suspension. Changing tumble direction goes very swift, without a pause. Here's the link to the new Eudora 3 kg machines. www.eudora-qualitaet-ein-leben-la... They are also sold as Euronova: www.euronova-waschmaschinen.de... Here's a productsheet in English of the latest compact model: www.improducts.co.uk/download/154... |

A slightly different twist (and apparently not what was planned originally) on the usual colour combo, the custom made table is an interesting addition and the original plan a bonus. Note that by this time they have abandoned the double door/angled handles they used for so long for a more conventional style door
The oven and hob are listed separately which I will include later CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

It seems that after WW2 several companies manufactured metal kitchen units, not just English Rose. These look a bit far gone to be of much use, but thought folks would be interested to see the styling

Built Under with décor panel. Late 1970s/early 1980s. I often think its a shame this style of fridge did not do so well, as its a far more practical and spacious arrangement than the myriad of integrated built under models we have now

As a change from green kitchens, lets have an orange one. I think from the logo on the sink unit that these are Grovewood Daintymaid (such a cute name!) and will date from the 1970s. Actually this looks like a classic example of a kitchen that has been extended, something quite common place these days but back in the 1970s it was really going for it to extend the space as well as refit it. It looks like the oven, hob and hood are 1980s (late) or 1990s (early) Hotpoint replacements.
I would be looking at my £500 a long while before I would be spending it on this! CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

I don't often feature Hi-Fi and stuff like that (its not that I am not interested I just do not have the time) but I thought I would share this with you. Someone has gone to a lot of effort to craft a cabinet from a car stereo. 8 tracks never really caught on here, more so in cars than domestic and I once even saw an 8 track recorder. I think whoever made this did quite a good job

I am posting this as a curiosity rather than something folks are likely to buy. Although they say its working it looks to me like there are bits missing rendering it useless

I have posted many later examples of this cooker but this is the earlier (although not the first) version and is, in my opinion the best looking of all of them. And it looks in lovely condition too. This is all gas, including the ovens

Well bugger me if there are not two on at the same time. I should say that this version is quite rare in my experience, its the later ones with the glass oven doors you see most often. This one is probably not in as good condition as the first one but then it is only 99p

Range that is. This is a domestic not a commercial cooker and is the first time I have ever seen a chargrill on a domestic range - I have seen them as built in "domino" units of course. Its hard to tell if that is a griddle on top of the element or a grid.

This cooker is one third the size of the one previously posted! Its unusual in that it comes with a fan oven although there was also a fan version of the competing Creda Cavalier. It also has a dual element hotplate which I think neither the Creda nor the Tricity Contessa offered. I would say its mid 1970s.
North American readers might be interested in the connection unit also shown. No plugs for us - our cookers have to be hard wired into their own, exclusive circuit. On the other hand we always (or should always) have an isolating switch (and I have posted many here in the past - often with a power outlet). The cable travels down the wall to one of these simple junction boxes - you are looking at the back of course - where the cable from the cooker is connected. In the normal course of events the isolating switch should not need to be removed to connect the cooker CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

Re the GE processor. I have that machine and only have the one reversible slicing disk and the metal blade along with the blender attachment. Odd they didn't include a picture of the blender jar they are including but didn't try and aren't sure if it goes with it.. all they had to do was try it.. LOL . Whether there were more attachments I don't know.. I got mine as is as well. |

Pete
It struck me that it was missing a spindle for the slicing/shredding disk for surely it would be useless to run the slicer/shredder on top of the cutting blade. I did wonder if there might not have been some sort of cover for the cutting blade too to cover the upper part of the spindle. Amazed to see it sold here at all (I suppose it might have come from Australia) although it would also not be the first time I saw a UK plug (incorrectly) on a US voltage appliance. |

The seller seems to think mid 1990s but that looks to be just an invoice for some spare part or something, I would say this looks more like 1980s or possibly late 1970s at a pinch

The moulded on plug indicates that this is a late version (early 80s I suppose) of an iron that was pretty much unchanged since it was introduced in 1938

This looks like an old model so unusual to see it offering a top basket only option. And unusual to see a cutlery basket in the top rack although that it obvious if the top basket only is being used.

Early model, from around the period after the Philips-Whirlpool name was dropped. This does not look to be a White Knight model - White Knight was the name adopted by the new owners of the old Philips dryer facility

i suppose from the styling this must be from the 1980s but I have never seen anything like it before. Trollies to keep food hot ("Hostess" trollies) are common enough but this sort of hot cupboard - no. I am surprised that the wood veneer is up to it.
I should say i am well versed with commercial hot cupboards in the course of my work, but they are all stainless steel CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |
