Hey Guys,

I have a lead on a Maytag 700S that I will check up on later this weekend, but the fellow said he also has a Whirlpool LSA7600. He said it the panel calls itself, "Whirlpool - Supreme". What would one of these look like? I scoured the Links as I thought I'd seen a Whirlpool model identification chart with this model number on it somewhere before...

More than likely, if it is what I think it is, it will be coming home with me. Thanks in advance ~

Ben

Hi Ben, don't know the Whirlpools by model numbers, but do know the Supreme was next to the TOL,which was the Imperial. Here is an example of the Imperial from 1955. The Supreme for 1956 looked just about like this Imperial for 1955.

And the back of the 1956 WP washer owners manual

Shows the matching dryers available for 1956. Note how the "Supreme" model dryer looks much like the 1955 Imperial washer in the first adv. I posted. I hope your Supreme is one of these. I do think that 1955 model is a very nice looking machine. Don't think anyone else here has that model of Whirlpool either

hope its ok to ask in this thread, but when Whirlpool said that more women bought their washers, were they including Kenmore sales?

LSA would be 1968 according to a "Ser-Lit" mini service manual I have for Whirlpool washers.

This is an ad from 1969, but the 68 line was similar in panel shape and design...

Geoff, when is your WP from? Looks like mid-70's which would follow the "F" coding in the model number. "S" coding would be much earlier.

Thanks guys! Rick, I would love to find a 56 Whirlpool Supreme, if I had to choose a Whirlpool to snag - it would be one of those beauties!

If this LSA7600 it is as cool as the machine Dwight just got, I would think about picking it up, as I will have room for two machines for the ride home. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again!

Ben

LFA is ~1977.

Ben, doubtful your Supreme has a full lighted console like the Imperial Mark XII, but it *might* have an incandescent backlight just for the timer dial. A Supreme 80 that my grandparents had back in the late 1960s had a backlit timer. I have no idea what was the model number of their machine.

I have been away from the CPU for a while. Yes, Glen is right, LFA= 1977. LSA came after mine.

It was a mercy save. I felt that it would be mean to just leave this machine behind and take the Maytag... so I brought this one home and threw it in storage. I was disapointed that it was an LFA, not an LSA, but you can't win them all! I'll probably use this for parts...
