I'm not sure if this set was posted here. I thought someone may be interested.

Since I'm here, I have an opportunity to acquire a Maytag A206 washer. Does anyone have any info on this model? Would it be worth picking up? Years of manufacture, etc.? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Gold bottom panels and large door on the dryer, looks more like an A108 and a DE108. Beautiful set.

A206 was one step up from BOL.It gave you 2 speeds, where the 106 was a single speed.Small capacity, another dependable Maytag!

A206

That link and my question were unrelated. Those Maytags I linked are in Florida and too far away for me to consider. There is an A206 about 25 minutes away, though, so that's why I was asking about that. It's not a match to my Maytag dryer but I thought maybe I could start with that and keep on the hunt. Thanks for info Goatfarmer. It sounds like you're saying it's almost MOL. The seller sent me some pictures. I'm attaching one to this post.

This is an A206 c.1969 or later-it has a permanent press cycle on the dial--they made this model for many years so it is hard to pinpoint the year without a serial #. Maybe Unimatic or Gansky could do it by picture alone.

Great machine. Used one for 4 years. Only problem, which a local Maytag serviceman said was typical, was that on cold days, agitation started up very slowly until a certain part connected to the helical drive "warmed up". Quite as a church mouse. And sported my favorite dark blue porcelain tub with a black powerfin agitator with a turquoise lint filter/softener top. I'd certainly snap it up.

funny that you mention something about cold days. my moms Maytag was in an unheated part of the house, which wasnt too bad since it doesnt stay below freezing in San Antonio for long. anyway, i now remember the machine had a different tone on very cold mornings. and the agitation was SLIGHTLY slower, but quickly got to speed. funny the things you remember!

The inside

Thanks for the info. I have less than a day to make up my mind if I want this. One member here said I should hold out for a match to my dryer, so I'm on the fence.
