Aren't those both "Blue Bell" models, or something similar? I think I read here recently that someone had been looking for one and that they're not as common as other (originally higher priced) models.
I'm not a wringer person, but can't recall seeing the "Graniteware" tub on later models with aqua plastic parts. IMO they're both overpriced. |

Maytag's BOL wringer washer (no pump, no agitator, no soft black wringer roller...)
Basic entry level meant to entice Madame into the store so she could hopefully be upsold on something better. Of course if she was married to a tight fisted SOB best could be hoped for is that a second agitator would be sourced to replace the useless stub/impeller. The tub is actually what the white round (J?) models look like without a porcelain coating. Even the decal Maytag slapped on looks cheap. *LOL* Again happily much was fixable about this machine. Besides replacing the agitator you could also swap out one of the rollers for the better black ones. Don't think it was possible to fit a pump onto these units, but others would know better. |

With the lower roller swapped out, but still the stub impeller agitator:
greensboro.craigslist.org/app/559... As for aging well, common it seems to all wringer washers rust sets in sooner or later. This comes from two sources I shouldn't wonder; the constant splashing of water over the sides of tub on wash day, and keeping unit either outdoors and or in a damp climate (basement). |
