Hi!
Look at what I found on a french store !!

After LG, here is another double washer, made by Haier.

What do you think about that ?

I'm not sure about the smaller drum on top (instead of in the bottom drawer like the LG) is not good for stability... the machine weights 112 kg, which is more than a standard machine, but even if the upper drum is for 4 kg (size is not specified, but let's suppose 28 liters as for the Candy Aquamatic) how would the machine handle with an unbalanced spin?

Errata corrige

I just has a better look and I found the drum capacity: 26 dm3 / 4 kg the top one, 53 dm3 / 8 kg the bottom one. Not very big drums, but total capacity is 79 dm3 for 12 kg, like most of the standard size - big drum washers here in Europe

Where,,,

Do you put the detergent? Would it not be hard to try and dose detergent/softener at the top?

Please don't tell me they are aiming this for exclusive pod usage lol.

You dump the detergent inside the drum just before you close the door and start the machine, just like you did in the old front loaders from the 50s and 60s (and 70s?)!

They were supposed to be launched here in Germany in March, so I'm still waiting.
Sure the drums are small, but I like the idea. And for once it seems pretty ok executed.
I guess everybody has this situation of some misc items to wash. I'm lucky to have 2 washers at home, allowing me to wash 2 loads at once. But this would open that option to everyone. 26 liters is still enough for about 10-15 T-Shirts, or 2-3 towels. Or a set of smaller guest bedding. And the bigger 53l drum should take a normal 80cm on 80cm pillow or not-to-thick comforter.

I like it. Though, Haier has a recall going here in Germany. And they never were quite known for reliability.

AH right, thanks. We've always used drawers on our machines.

Just wonder about the quality of those who executed it, Haier.

I have been debating getting one of the small 1.0 Haier top loaders to handle those odd loads Cold only/Like colors, that ends up being only two or three items.   I could see this machine fitting that niche.

BTW--what in the heck happened to prices of those small machines anyway.  Last year when I was looking at them they were priced between $169-$209.   Now they are more like $349-$499.  Did labor cost go up in China, or is it the cost of shipping?

I think it's a great idea.  I live by myself, yet love having 2 Duets to do laundry.
