whirlpool stove

I don't think this is a whirlpool - it looks identical to a Kenmore range(roper made) that I previously owned. Mine had a black glass door but the controls are the same.

The top lifts up for easy cleaning and the self cleaning lock can be pushed in and hidden when not in use.

I purchased mine in 1987 or 1988.

I used it for about 20 years and was happy with its performance.

Agreed looks a MOL Kenmore from late 80s/early 90s.

From the snow surrounding it, it either has been sitting around for a while or you are going to have a long drive north to get it.

I don't know how much baking you do, but if the oven selector dial has "PREHEAT" on it, chances are pretty good that when set on "BAKE" the oven does not use top heat to help browning, which can affect the appearance of delicate baked goods and that includes biscuits. I had to bake them on "PREHEAT" to get them to brown properly in a WP range that did not use top heat during bake.

As Mentioned NOT A WP RANGE

This is a ROPER designed range, overall an average range.

Did GE buy

out Roper, because it also looks very much like the GE sourced Kenmores by the console design.

Mike, Roper appliances is a brand now owned by Whirlpool. However, the range manufacturing factory was bought by GE. It is a complicated affair that involves Sears, who was the majority owner of Roper for many years.

Ah!

Yes, I knew Whirpool now owns the Roper name. I did not know Sears held major shares in Roper who supplied their ranges.
