Hey guys, a house 4 doors from mine came up for sale today. I have driven by it a million times since I was little and have always admired the exterior of the house, but never had been inside....until today!!! Walked through the inside today with a realtor and lo and behold....there it was: a KitchenAid Superba Vari-cycle KDS-15 dishwasher! I never knew what lurked within its walls....here's a picture for you to enjoy.

70s house

OMG! What a dream house! What's in the laundry? I'll bet the original 70s dryer and a new-ish washer :-(

There was no washer or dryer to be found in the house. The house is currently vacant. I was there with a realtor and I would have liked to take a pic of the interior but I just couldn't. He would have thought I was nuts...LOL!

Very nice machine - I agree, buy the house, replace the dishwasher with a nice Roper or Hotpoint, spray some air-freshener around and re-list it for $20K more!

getting the dishwasher...

The house was built in 1952 and I love that time period, but the house had some water issues in the basement and the kitchen was a big disappointment. It was very small. The exterior is beautiful but I was really disappointed once inside. I would have considered buying it if the interior had been better.

I will wait until the house sells and approach the new owners. Chances are they will probably replace the dishwasher right away with a new one. Most people wouldn't want avocado. I have other panels that will fit that machine. I will make an offer on the dishwasher. I imagine otherwise it would just end up in the landfill.

Most people would welcome someone to "take away" an old avocado dishwasher! I bet the new owners would gladly give it up for chump change. I once bought a person I met only once a new vacuum cleaner, as a "trade" to get their old vintage Hoover. They thought I was nuts, but I got the Hoover!
