This report notes that JC Penney's will start selling appliances at its Holyoke (Mass.) Mall, where Sears is also located. The article suggests a price war between the two stores.
Not really any earth-shattering deals for those consumers who shop there; just making note of a possible trend. By the way, Massachusetts will not be having a sales tax holiday weekend this year. Good thing that I was not planning any major purchases in the near future. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Blackstone's LINK |

Have appliance manufacturers picked up on what the electronics industry is doing?
Try buying a TV now, and you will find that the exact same TV is sold under a whole bunch of different model numbers. Best Buy, Sears, Amazon, etc, they all get TVs which are "different" models, but identical aside from the sticker. It's an industry-wide "get out of jail free" card for competitor price matching. So all of the catchy advertisements... "We'll beat anyone's price! You won't find it any lower!"... They really have zero risk for the retailer and no actual benefit for the consumer. :-/ |
