Article in our local weekly yesterday announcing that Henkel has agreed to acquire Sun Products - forgot the amount of the acquisition but seems to be of local interest since Sun is headquartered here in Wilton, Connecticut.

Wonder what that will mean for their brands Wisk, Surf, All, Snuggle, etc...?

There was a brief thread about the takeover a couple of months back.

Although Sun has done a decent job with the legacy Lever Brothers products, I assume Henkel will have more marketing and R&D heft and will give P&G a tougher time.

Both Lever and Colgate abandoned the North American laundry detergent market because it was just too hard to make money against the Cincinnati juggernaut. Maybe Henkel sees something they didn't. In any case, consumers should benefit.

the end of Wisk

They are promoting Persil on the Wisk Facebook page. I called Sun (or what is left of them) and the very nice lady in India would not confirm or deny if Wisk is being discontinued.

They are discontinuing Wisk. If you click on the pic on the FB page for Wisk, they do say that it being discontinued and it was a difficult decision that they made. Watch and see if more products from Sun bite the dust like All, Snuggle and Surf.

I bought two 66-load jugs of Wisk yesterday evening, just because.

What is the relationship between Diversey and Sun???

I see Wisk liquid, All Powder and Liquid offered by Diversey on a regular basis. I believe a member here ordered the Wisk Liquid and the All Powder a while back, and said they were similar to the old products from way back. Are these the Sun products repackaged for Diversey, or are they different products? I've considered ordering them before, but I have enough detergent to last the rest of my life, and I told myself that I wasn't going to buy anything else until I've used every last drop and granule of what I already have in stock!

It's going to be a long few years. . . .

Lever Bros became Diversey-Lever for a short time before selling to Sun (then Lever became Unilever). You are probably seeing either old stock for sale, or old content on the webpage.
.
Had Unilever kept the detergent division and brought the UK Persil formula over, they might still have given P&G a better run for their money. Instead, the door was left open for Henkel to come in and stomp P&G.

Diversey

is now part of Sealed Air Corp. - yes, the company that makes Bubble Wrap.

Wisk is part of their institutional cleaning products line. See link below.
