What a great old Homart.

Does anyone know who built these for Sears?  Wonder if it was several companies, or just one manufacture.

They were truly built to last.  Many of these are still in operation.

Not sure,

but some Sears furnaces were made by Luxaire. The had very robust heat exchangers.
My dad got one from Sears when condensing furnaces first came out, and it was a Heil. It's still working. My sister had it inspected last year.

We had a Sears Homart 600 oil boiler installed when I was a kid with new baseboard heating in the mid 60's. When it was put in I couldnt believe how small it was compared to the big hot air octopus it replaced.

Heil Quaker was a source for some Sears heating.

Thanks for the information on the manufacture of the Homart Furnaces. I remember for a time that Whirlpool were building their furnaces and condensers. Wonder what year they started for Sears.

There are quite a few people that have posted videos on Youtube of their Homart Furnaces still in operation. They are very proud of them.

Homart Furnaces

Thru 1958 were GM Delco Heats, This one is a Heil, The gas Heil furnaces were good, the oil fired not so much, the small square heat exchangers were prone to crack, but I loved the old Delco built ones.
