Matching washer and dryer.  These are the last-generation FF's; the dryer has already morphed into the current-model cabinet with the old top and console.  I think this is an extra large capacity washer, definitely has Mini-Basket.

$175 in Knoxville.

Great washer and dryer BUT.....

the ugliest FF console made by GE imo. I hated when they went to that slanted console which I believe was a nod to Whirlpool. The next models had the same slanted consoles but had knobs instead of push buttons on the left and they were Rim Flo models with the Handwash Agitator. Still better than anything out there today with the exception of SQ of course.

yeah, maybe not the best looking control panel......but its still a Heavy Duty machine underneath....

not like we couldn't switch out to a panel we liked....easy as pie!

this may be the last from the 90's.....but still built on the same platform since the 60's....time proven!...

Question

At this point was GE planning a complete makeover of their washers? They did consolidate the Hotpoint and GE design shortly thereafter but I wonder if any thought was given to continuing production of the current designs or changing the design all together to compete with the WP/KM direct drive chuga chuga washers.
