not that it's a major issue but it looks like the cycle control knob is missing from the machine

Nice reverse

rack Maytag, if the seals in it aren't all dried up and leak.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the "TEMP BOOST" AND "SANI WASH" options on Jet Clean dishwashers from this vintage?

Wasn't TEMP BOOST just to keep the heater unit on during the wash cycle and SANI WASH had a pause in the cycle to allow the water in the tub to get nice and hot??

That's how SANI CYCLE works on the KitchenAid and the Waste King, but I don't know what the deal is with the Maytag.

On my JennAire RR...

The Power Light goes out and the timer delays while heating the water. I will have to check the temp the next time I run the machine.

I think it's the other way around.  Sani-Wash on Maytags was the heater was when selected throughout the circulation periods. Temp Boost did a thermostatic hold during main wash.    Sani-Wash was the original feature but because it wasn't thermostatically controlled, no assured temperature.  Temp Boost came much later.

Addendum to my previous post...

The power light (On light which is a good thing it's there to let you know it's running :) ) will go out during the Main Wash, Pump stays running, timer stalls, until the temperature is reached.

Upon reaching the temp, the light comes back on and continues through the cycle. I have not seen this happen on the last two rinses.

You are correct Eddie.  Not boosted final rinse.

The dry cycle

when heat is used with the forced air fan sanitizes the dishes. I had one back in the early 90's and it used to fill the room with steam. Dishes were squeaky clean, and very hot.
