This is a pretty amazing website I just ran across. Combine a Google Earth like globe experience with the ability to explore live streaming radio worldwide!. A few hours could be spent here :)

"redial on automatic?"

Somebody told her that there was a place like heaven
Across the water on a 747
Yeah, we're living in
In a modern world
And pretty soon she's really got the notion
Of flying out across the big blue ocean
Yeah, we're living in
In a modern world
Talk is cheap on satellite
But all I get is static information
I'm still here re-dial on automatic
Calling America (can't get a message through)
Calling America (that's what she said to do)
Calling America (that's where she has to be)
Calling America (she left a number for me)
Calling America
But I'm just talking to a satellite
Twenty thousand miles up in the sky each night
Yeah, we're living in
In a modern world
All I had to do was pick up the phone
I'm out in space, trying to talk to someone
Yeah, we're living in
In a…

Interesting concept of merging Google Earth with links to live streaming radio. However, the site is very slow in responding to scrolling or zooming in/out.

I have a folder on my Bookmarks bar with just radio stations. I added this website to it.

Amazing indeed. I'm on a fast connection, I have no problems with a slow response. If you change from one station to another the change goes very smooth.

I miss some functionalities though. A search function would be nice to have. And perhaps the choice of music genre. I'd love to find out about stations around the world that play classical music.

Don't blame me, I'm not the original OP. ;-)

Did you have any favourite German stations? I just found NDR Kultur.

classical music from Australia

Hi Louis

you might like to listen to ABC Classic. ABC is the Australian Broadcasting Commission, no relation to the American ABC. It is our national broadcaster both Radio and TV, and is a National treasure.

ABC classic is abc.net.au/classic , a link to the live broadcast online is below.

I'm not so much into classical, though I do listen occasionally. I tend to listen to ABC local from Ballarat - mostly talk with some music, a variety of genres.

( abc.net.au/ballarat ) There is not yet a live online broadcast of this station, though the page contains a link to podcasts.

Chris.

Thank you Chris! I added it to my list of classical music stations. It's nice to have a bit of variation.
