Has anyone had any experience with the new Atari Flashback 7 Classic Game Console? I was thinking of picking one up but the only Staples review said it was terrible. Thought I'd ask here and get a first-hand experience!

Thanks,
Chuck

should meet expectations

I had bought some of the smaller plug-in games~2005 and thought they were ok for made in China toys :) lots of fun ~1979-83 games. I still have my Tomy Pac-man game I got Christmas,1981-made in Japan, has a multi-color VFD display.

There are plenty of actual Ataris out there that can be found in thrift stores and Craig's list that cost a lot less. Besides, wasn't Intellivision more entertaining back then?

Maybe Intellivision was, but I never had it.

Staples will price match the same unit that's $40 at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and I have a $20 Staples voucher, so it would be net $20 to me. But just another piece of stuff around the house if it's no good.

I have a classic Atari 2600 console and stash of cartridges.  A few were loaned to cousins who never returned them, would have to pull out the box to check what's there.

I have an older version of that, maybe it's the Flashback 2? It was a Christmas gift in 2005. It looks like the one in your picture, but the joysticks have cables. I thought it was interesting that the joysticks looked just like the originals and the plugs were the same as the old ones so you could use joysticks you already had as it had 4 plugs on the front.

As far as the games it was okay, they're the same as the old ones. I also have the original Atari 2600 with several games. I never use it though. Not really much in to video games any more.
