Still in the time automatic washers were a fairly new thing, this one was one of many different machines that worked a little differently than most. Kind of innovative for the time, considering what the future held in store. From what I have heard about these, they weren't that great a machine at washing or spinning out and had to be bolted to the floor. Looks like they were built like tanks though. Interesting that they reversed rotation, something neither bendix or westinghouse did at the time. Makes you see why Norge seemed to fair so well in performance in comparison.

The Jacobs Launderall definitely has to be bolted down.... It shakes more than it spins!

For the few here that don't already know this, a slightly disguised Launderall was the ill-fated washer that Lucy sold to the Mertz's.
