Today's POD shows a cylindrical filter that fits over the agitator. Our late 1950's Hotpoint washer had that filter. Oddly, I have never seen a picture of that washer on this forum. Does anyone know which Hotpoint washer that may be? The details I remember are: a righthand side timer knob. Clear timer dial with black center knob that pulls out. Full length fluorescent lighted backpanel. Push-button temp buttons. Black straight-vane agitator. Filter-flo cylinder in red. Typical non-modern 1950's appearance. Unit was probably purchased in 1958 when they married. Unit used to walk across the basement floor regularly. Thanks guys and gals if you can figure this one out. Maybe it could be my mission to find that washer....
