For the center-dial Maytags, when was it that the washer serial number plate moved/changed from the triangular plate under the lid, to the rectangular tag on the back panel? Did all models change, or was it specific models only that had it on the back?

Photos of both styles are attached. Kenw's LA208, and the avocado KA806S that was on eBay a little while back.

Ask and you shall receive. Looks like I narrowed down the Series 2 machines to sometime in mid-1977, which is when Maytag moved the model identification tag to under the lid.

Ahh, so I had it backwards! The earlier models had the tag on the back, and the later models had the triangular tag under the lid.

Ok, mid-77 and Series 2. That's great information. Thanks Ben!

Hey Ben, what do you make of this one?  A Series 1 A806, with a WS date code (August 1975)...  So maybe it was earlier than mid '77 / Series 2 that the tags moved?
