Because my Cuisinart quit working (see this thread)
www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/T... I thought it was time for something new. So I bought a Magimix. Because I live alone I opted for the 3200XL, very similar to my Cuisinart DLC-2011. Here's a picture of it on my countertop. And this is the link to this model on the American website. www.magimix.com/usa/products/PREP... The Magimix is about the same price here as the Cuisinart was, but the Cuisinart is not longer available here. Before I used it I already noticed some differences. The Magimix is a bit heavier and the bowls are of a kind of plastic that is a bit more flexible. The Magimix also comes with a few more accessories like three bowls. Not that I need that all (I could have done without the middle sized bowl. As an extra I ordered the Parmesan disc. There was also a promotion, I had to fill out a form online, they will send me the Creative Kit for free. So far so good!

Actually Magimix and Robot Coupe are sister companies owned by Hameur S.A. in Luxemburg. But yes, they are related.
Thanks Nathan for the tips. I'll try and hand wash them, but the Cuisinart parts ended up in the dishwasher at a certain moment too. A separate wash in the dishwasher on a low temperature is too much of a hassle for me. The Magimix makes a similar sound as the Cuisinart did. Typical induction motor sound, indeed a quiet hum. A big difference between the Cuisinart and the Magimix is that my Cuisinart was one of those models on which you needed to remove the big pusher before you could open the lid. I always found that annoying. Now I can just turn the lid. |
