I don't know about the Chef Connect, but I do have a GE coil top range that I purchased about 14 mo. ago and I love it. We had a similar GE coil top before and were very pleased with it too. The burners are very fast and they also cool down quickly too so it is really easy to regulate the temp. The oven is even heating and the thermostat was right on the money from day one and required no tweaking. This range is very basic, no self clean oven, but I really don't miss that anyway. The self cleaning ovens smoke up the house so I would have to use the self clean feature only when it was warm enough to open all the windows. And if I don't let it get too dirty it really only takes about 30 mins of concentrated effort to clean it, I can handle that. The one feature that I do miss though is a timed bake and delay start for the oven.
