Got this beauty today from an eBay seller in Canada. It only took 4 days for delivery! I've waited longer than that on items purchased here in the States. In any case, this one lights up. I'll post pics of it in action later. Also, the name stamped on the bottom is Proctor-Lewyt. It must be the Canadian version of Proctor Silex.

I bought my friends the Jones'es a PS LifeLong coffee maker for their wedding gift in Oct. 1974. It was in Avocado.

I just made a pot of coffee and it works great. However, I notice that the aluminum basket gives the coffee a metallic taste. It's not horrible but I prefer using a plastic basket. I found that I can use the basket from the other pot as it fits perfectly.

I have the exact same one, design on glass. IIRC Robert has one as well but has a different design on the glass.

Is swearing allowed in this forum? After ONE DAY of having the latest percolator, the light-up one, I broke the glass bowl!!! Of course, not wanting to be without, and after looking on eBay for a replacement, I had to buy an entire setup just to get the same glass bowl.

In case anybody was wondering about the swear word, it starts with an F and ends with a K. I said it quite loudly.

groan... can feel the pain ..

It's like when I asked my folks for two antique vases that my gran had brought over from the old country..after she died in 62 they were placed in boxes and sat in the folks basement for decades,,moving along with them from basement to basement as they moved houses.

I haul them from Ontario to Calgary for our new house.. put them on a shelf in our basement till I find somewhere to display them.. THe shelf collapsed and broke the two vases.. When I told my ma what happened she said.. never tell your dad.. not that he liked them or for sentiment,, just that he had been storing and hauling those two damn vases for yeers that never saw the light of day from house to house and now I got to break them LOL.

It's Murphy's Law...if it can go wrong, it will go wrong. Sigh...

Sorry to hear about the vases! That really sucks, especially since they were antiques.

There is just something about a glowing pot of coffee  that is so inviting.  Wish there was a modern version that had a lighted pot.
