Hello, everyone,

I own a Hoover Electron 800 A3266 washing machine. Everything was going fine, until one of the suspension legs popped out smashing into the control module. I checked every component on the board with the utmost scrutiny. The damaged parts were a resistor, diode and two capacitors. I also looked for dry joints and cracks. I plugged it in, nothing happened. The only part I couldn't check was the Philips TDA1070P IC, so I believe it has to be that. I've looked everywhere for a replacement, but with no luck. Does anyone have one of these hanging around, or is there a substitute I can use? If anyone has a spare module, that would be even better. The written information on the module is:

Mullard
BB LP120 5/13
01 411

I would really appreciate your help.

Module

Hello, I might have a spare module somewhere (Emptied my work of hundreds of new-old spares not too long ago!), will have to dig the Hoover modules box out and will have a look for a complete module in there. I did start to log a load of modules on a spreadsheet with everything else, but some only said on the label ''Hoover 800'', so without looking for a module identical to yours I cant confirm if I have one or not. Will have a look at the weekend and be in touch.

Chris

I've got a TDA1085C chip which is a washing machine module chip for a Zanussi amongst other brands.

When we were building this house, we got a young English couple to build two concrete water tanks for us. They had brought a Zanussi washer out when they migrated to Australia, the brand wasn't sold here and no parts available. It had died recently when we knew them. I told them I was a washing machine nutter might be able to repair it. I chased up a chip from the UK pre-internet...I went to the library to look at UK phone books; got a list of hopeful electronic parts suppliers; phoned them in turn till I found someone who stocked TDA1085C chip; ordered by fax and paid credit card over the phone... I ordered 2 in case I accidentally destroyed one, but the first one worked and I still have the second, still with original envelope and EFT receipt...date on receipt is 1998, I got them from Tele-Part in Wolverhampton.

Any way, if a TDA1085C is of use to you, it is yours. I don't know if they are interchangeable or not.

I might also have a Hoover module to match yours, I will look tomorrow.

Wow, she looks lovely! What's the plan for her, you keeping her or selling her off?

Some pics of her in action would be fab.
