Washer is free w/ purchase of dryer---I like that. Reminds me of the "Car free with purchase of key!" TV ads that ran here years ago.

A nice-looking set! Hope someone from AW.ORG snags it up.

Surely, I am mistaken. Perhaps these are A806 and DE806?

Check the 1" chrome above the timer..... that gives it away for me.

I need that dryer if not both.

interesting

so if its an 806, it would have a lighted console, correct?

i am showing the set to a friend who could use a nice second machine. the only gotcha is he needs a gas drier. maybe we could break the set up and he could find a gas drier at some point?

I am the owner of the set. They are definitely A606S and DE606, and are still available. Contact me for more pictures or info.

Tagger,

Thanks for posting. Can you put additional pictures up on here? Was there an issue with the washer?

they are gorgeous

(gentle tone of voice) Why are you getting rid of them? If they work well, nothing newer will be any better.

If I had room, I would seriously consider bidding.

These machines belonged to my mom who passed away last October. I am faced with combining the stuff from two houses and I just don't have room for two washers and dryers. (I have an A511 and DE405.)

I think this is a pretty cool forum so I am going to issue a challenge to you all to see how deep your affinity for Maytag is. Whoever takes both machines can have them for free as long as you give them some TLC and a good home.

Please note the following:
The dryer works fine except the end of cycle chime doesn't ring.
The washer runs, but has several issues:
The machine operates with the lid open or closed.
About half of the lint filter is broken off.
There is a little water leakage during spin. It appears to me that the spin starts a little early, before enough water has been pumped out.
Because I know some of you are collectors, looking for perfection, please note that there are a few chips in the paint, the power light flickers, and the printing has faded from the load size buttons and part of the dial.

Nice set! Washer running all the time is lid switch, either bad,or misadjusted.

spins starts before all the water is pumped out??

....that's the way Maytag spins....starts with a full tub, not a neutral drain machine...
