Wonder if anyone has heard anything good about the Bosch Axxis series washer and dryer. It is the standard axxis washer not the top model and the dryer is the standart electric vented dryer. Thanks

a little wet

Well actually I'm selling my house and everything is a little wet but the house is fine. I'm moving to Columbus (where I am currently at) but yes all my posessions are still alright.
Thanks for the concern.

John

Bosch Axxis Washer and Dryer

I have the Axxis+ washer and the dryer. I love them. I got mine just as they were released and am very pleased with the performance. The dryer is a little noisy in my opinion but I can live with it. I'm going on 5 years without a problem.

I have read on other sites that Bosch washers do not deal with suds very well. I do not know if that applies to all models, but it's something I have also heard from friends who have the original size machine.

Suds..

The few times I have put too much soap in my machine it went into a "Foam" mode where I guess it added rinses until the soap was gone. When the window filled up with suds, the display said "Foam, adding rinse" or something like that. All I know is when it was done, there were no suds left in the load. I generally don't use too much detergent but on a couple of occasions I had only a few things in the load and used too much soap. That is when it "foamed" up.

Have to say that I was very disappointed with my mum's old Bosch. Needed an expensive repair after only 3 years use, and they're supposed to be a high quality machine. Even though the TOL 2460 is better built, I couldn't trust another Bosch washing machine again, especially after the problems several members even on this site have had.

On the other hand

...our basic level Bosch dryer is great, and is much better than my AEG condenser dryer IMO.

My dealer asked me to get the Axxis+ washer instead of the Axxis washer. Should I pay the extra $200-$300 for the Axxis+ ?

I have had the Axxis+ (2460) washer and the matching dryer for about 3 years and am very pleased. The washer did need a motor replacement after 2 years, but was replaced under warranty. The dryer and washer are excellent for all types of loads. I got spoiled by the 205 degree wash temp and 1600 rpm spin of my ASKO vs 165 and 1200 on the Bosch, but these Bosch machines have been more reliable so far. When I purchased them, you were paying an extra $200 for 200 more rpm's on the (+) model, but there was a $200 rebate at the time so I got it....glad I did.
