I have two RV-92s--one I'm going to use in the kitchen and the other for spare parts. My issue is rewiring. I was able to figure out how to take the cabinet apart to work on the wires--real mess, there's alot of gunk in there.
The issue is the wiring. I'm using 14 gauge high temperature wire to replace the wiring in there--especially the wires that run close to the drip bowls. I figure since I had the extra wire I would continue to the control assembly that houses the infinite heat controls. The wire's protective housing is white so I figure I would use a marker to color label the red and black wires to tell the difference.
Any suggestions as I dive into this would be welcome. Cleaning it will take awhile. I remember someone on this site commented on what happens when all that cooking gunk flies into all those vent holes. Well, it's all still there after 60 years--along with a few spiders. LOL. Amazingly the paper on the back is yellowed but in great shape and the housing looks like galvanized metal. Should clean up well, but I'm using gloves in case there are any live critters in there. I already had a spider visit from Florida inside an 1956 GE wall oven (pink!!! it was worth it!!!)
