My son sent me this photo of this Crown Range and asked me what I knew about it. I have never seen one like it before, and wonder if all the large doors are for ovens. Also, what time period do you think the color indicates?  It does seem odd to me because the top structure does not match in width what is directly below it.

Mid 60s

Was supposed to look built in, I have seen several of these. Its basically a 24 inch range with a elevated second oven and broiler and a storage unit bolted on the side, I bet it would weigh a ton..It also has a vent hood and light built in.....

Looks like it could be 3 ovens. As there is 4 top burners but what looks like 7 control knobs.

I live in what I will call "Crown Town" (near Chicago). The factory was nearby (Cicero?) Anyway, lots of CROWN around this town but I have never seen that one.

George, he's not opting for this Crown instead of that big Chambers range, is he?

The top right oven with the side swing door is nice.

Hi Ralph,

No, he is not opting for this over the Crown range, which he  did get,  and it is being restored (or maybe refurbished is a better word) somewhere in Michigan.

I was a little disappointed that some parts are not going to be re-porcelained, but rather a matt finish  called cerakote will be used.  The restorer says he has used it before with no complaints.  I doubt that it can withstand oven cleaner.

He has not been able to find the BTU rating for the burners.   Those burners look a little different and larger than the daisy Chambers burners I have seen before.

George
