The grand GRAND excitement of Aworg
She's alive and well, just having moved into assisted living, referring to the original owner Shortly after getting the machine, her husband bought her one of the first "square"machines, an automatic. The Kenmore was then covered up for 50+ years. The seller who bought it said there was tons of stuff so well kept and cared for in that house.
Her husband then bought her another automatic, and so the "square" was also safely stored. Seller said this one was too heavy for him to buy and move; he was alone at the time. He is going to try to identify it for us. What if it's an Apex, or some other exotic early 50's wonder. Guessing it's probably a WP/KM, Tag or Friggie or SQ, but who knows? More later when he get's home, but that is indeed glass on the unusal and fetching control dial. | ||

Trust you MickeyD to get the scoop. Words cannot express how happy we are to see you posting again.
Know you do most of your work quietly and efficiently, but am interested in seeing how you manage to get that washer from WI to upstate NY. *LOL* Back on topic in general: You can tell owner took real good care of this washer by how they not only left the rollers without tension, but put a nice piece of cloth between the rollers. Someone really needs to get this washer. It appears to be a late 1940's TOL model from Sears with every single bell and whistle Kenmore could put on a conventional washer. Insulated tub, timer with bell that also stops motor, balloon wringer rollers, pump, 25 gallon tub...

Is a favorite lyric of mine written by e.e. cummings, but I sure did lose this time. It's a long story, which I'll share in a few days. Did anyone here get this?
If you're comfortable to divulge, please do Does anyone have new contact information on the seller? This machine so wants a museum. Look at her--the glory, with real glass on the control dial protrusion, and what a huge protrusion, like a giant out-ee belly button.
