Hi guys,
I'm picking this up today, so excited! I was about 13 when this Bendix range was around. Never seen the dryer but remember a family friend having the Royale washer, great machine and so quiet. I hope one day to have the washing machine to match this dryer.

I wondered who had snapped this up, I have never seen this dryer branded as Royale before, do you know if it was a store exclusive or something? I like the styling :)

Hi Vacbear58 and thank you!
I know these were sold in the Electricity board shops in the early 80's, think the Royale was the top of the range. The De luxe was the one with the silver fascia.
Can't believe my luck with this dryer. Picked it up this morning, been cleaning it this afternoon and it's almost like new!
It's been so well looked after and for a 35 year old machine, it looks stunning!

Very nice machine, I have the 7147B washer. Silver fascia. There was a 7147EB Royale, I have an instruction manual on PDF on my laptop somewhere. Footage of one can be seen in the first three mins of Tim Hunkins " secret life of the video recorder", search it up on YouTube!

Welcome to Autowasher.
Finally someone near me!
Love the dryer. Stunning fascia colour and "royal" sounds so posh!
How are you getting on with it?

My very first automatic washing machine was a Bendix 7147 which I bought in either the late 70's or perhaps early 80's. As soon as I could afford it I bought the matching drier - the 7447. I never bought the stacking kit as they both stood side by side to each other. Marvellous machines, sadly no longer with us much to my regret. I have never seen the "Royale" which looks to be a stylish machine to say the very least!
