No matter how I slice it if I can replace my SQ with something else I will. See my tale of woe elsewhere on this website. My dealer also has these in stock, pretty much the same price as the SQ FL I have. I notice it has a lower spin speed and slightly less capacity...but that's small beer compared to my current issues. Anything else to know 'bout these Whirlpools? The goal is to get a FL machine that won't be done in by a child's sock, toothpick, or errant LEGO piece. I think my machine probably has an issue in the wiring harness but nonetheless I have been convinced by SQ's own tech reps it's just not suited for basic family life...so I am looking elsewhere. I should also mention our laundry room is very limited on space so the machine's footprint ought to be approximately the same as a standard top-loader. We has a Frigidaire 118 set in there when i was a child growing up in this very house. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Stricklybojack's LINK

Hi Robert, I have a very similar model from Maytag, EpicZ. I bought in 2006 (11 y.o.) and no repairs. My EpicZ have the same mechanism than This commercial model on your picture. The difference are only on cycles. I highly recommend it. |

Parts & labor warranty is quite short, and I don't see an exception for home use. CLICK HERE TO GO TO suburbanmd's LINK |

If you want a pump you can clean out yourself, go LG or Samsung. Sadly, the only manufacturers that offer that in the US. Otherwise, check scratch\dent isles. At what happend to you, a cheaper option might be a way less disapointing choice in the end. |

Jay, thanks. I glanced at that and figured I would buy an extended warranty if I got this machine. Lots of possibilities, however I doubt one of them is me getting a cash refund. I may be able to negotiate a store credit, hence considering this Whirlpool or other machine. If I have to go SQ I may try to get a 5 year warranty FL model if I can. Even the stainless is now cheaper than what I paid for mine. |

Just buy your mom a top loader like she wanted! SQ, GE, WP, Maytag anything with a deep wash and rinse! It's what she wanted so I would suggest you stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Mike |

If they accept our application for a return, but i have no choice but to get a Speed Queen machine, i may lobby for a SQ432 and a refund of the price differential. That said my mother now likes the FL experience...at least until it started breaking down so often. She loves watching the machine go around through the door's window. I want to see what SQ does working through the standard channels. If their response is unsatisfactory i will consider the various consumer agencies and prehaps broaden my social media postings of my experience beyond AW. |
