January 1999

but the fact of being a 3000 series alone would have told you that without looking it up.....these were the first generation of Neptunes...

don't recall if they actually made a 4000 dryer to go with the upgraded washer....considering this was 1999, I will say no...

somewhere around 2000 is when they changed both to digital 5500 series....

Thanks Martin!
Yeah 3000 told me it was MUCH older than the customer thought!

many times people don't actually make up an age, it sort of falls into how long they owned it, and they use that....

they may buy a 15 year old machine, use it for two years, then try selling it as being only two years old....

amazing what people think up in their minds.....

never understood why a date code is hidden into a model/serial number when it comes to appliances, rather than stamp a manufacturer date on the back somewhere...

like automobiles, we can recognize right away by the year it was made, or changes from one year to the next...

then again, why make life simple!

Probably the same reason as to why you don't see clocks in stores, caffees and restaurants.

Out of sight, out of mind; same goes with time.
