While I miss them ,I don't think they are worth the trouble .I'd rather retrofit the controls, panel and grille to a R-134a unit.As you know R-12 is gold and R-22 is silver, to purchase. | ||

That looks just like the Frigidaire I pull from my closet into my bedroom window every summer for about 3 months. Still works just fine and does cost more to run but I can sleep rather comfy, its not that noisy and its paid for itself many times over. Had it since 1985 and you just plug it in and away it goes and the room is at meat locker temperature in a couple hours.

Yes Tim, A condenser of aluminum, metal & copper with blade soaking in condensate water will last forever.Most are not super diligent to remove, drain and place in a closet .What a guy! | ||

I have one just like it. Mine is a 6000 BTU from 1978. The green push buttons are for the "Electri-Saver" mode that stops the fan when the thermostat cycles the compressor off.
