The FINAL part. With another Caloric Ultramatic on it's way, I just HAD to finish this looong drama. Just need to do the knobs and then some glam pictures. Be posting the final images soon.

Many heartfelt thanks!

Now if there is one thing I like, it's a clean, neat and shiny knob.

The lettering had pretty much disappeared of the knobs of the Caloric. So after some cleaning, painting, removing the center aluminum disks, printing new lettering using the correct font (thanks to hubby), then applying,  sealing the disk with a layer of archival tape (non yellowing, acid free), finally the knobs are done. This was the LAST thing to do in terms of keeping the Caloric original.

Absolutely Hans. I never want to do that lettering again. Which is why I sealed it with archival tape.

After the glamor shots comes the switching of parts from the 1962 Ultramatic to this one. Parts to be switched are: Ultra-ray broiler door, light console above gauges and something I'm not sure if I will be able to accomplish, adding a third Burner with a Brain. The 1962 Ultramatic has one in the left rear. The 1964 has one on the left front. If successful, the Ultramatic will have three Burners with a Brain. So I'll be calling it the Ultimate Ultramatic Heritage  Caloric.  tongue-out

Very nice work restoring those knobs!! They look showroom new!! This is very custom work but it really restores the range back to it's original beauty! Well done!

Thanks Kevin! While not my favorite style of knobs, (prefer the 1962 knobs), they do look nice nonetheless.
