Hi there, just retired my 27 year old Logic 1300 A8552. I have a pdf parts manual with some hand written notes of number changes / obsolete parts etc. I got this from Gias spares at the time if anyone interested. (snip below).
Also of note was the 'make us an offer' approach from sales when I gave a list of parts needed over the 'phone. Wonder if they still do this?
Anyway
Did some major repairs 6 years ago:
Kurusted and enamelled lower tub rear
Araldited a leak around a backplate nut
New tub seal
New bearings and water seals.
Then 2 years ago:
New armature bearings - saved a motor brilliantly
Swapped condenser spray solenoid to use as cold fill method (triple sov cold fill failed and can't get them) as we didn't use it as a dryer anymore so swapped pipes and spade connections.
Just now had an issue with plug connection - melted terminal (loose terminal screw in plug). The old girl needed a suspension kit and the sov solution worked but was getting slower.
I'm gonna miss using my laptop at the kitchen table with those soothing clicks of the programmer, which somehow told you what it as going to do next. The acceleration from slow spin to fast for the finale, and sometimes the gradual speed increase as shed water lightened the load.
I'm certain I could have kept it going longer, but there was pressure as you'd expect when it had been down for 3 weeks. For instance could probably have converted to dual single sovs to replace the triple.
Joined the site and made this post as a way of saying thanks for the mine of Info I got as a casual user whilst making those repairs. Bit of a nostalgic photomontage attached.
