Hi everyone,

Has anyone heard of the new Mechanical Kenmore Steam dryer?

Well... if you have not,

Here's the link:

It is almost identical to the one without steam released before this one was released.

Aren't all dryers "mechanical"?

Response to Are all dryers mechanical question

No, some have electronic controls like some washers have electronic controls.

Well the parts lists appear to show that it does have a timer still, have to be careful at assuming rotary controls are always just mechanical timers.

Fortunately most modern machines have ditched the old mechanical controls by now... Yes there are some of us odd people that lurk here too

It's pretty easy to tell timers from electronic controls... Just the layout is a pretty simple giveaway, no electronic control would cram all the settings in the way a timer has to.

I have this dryer

In the Whirlpool version and can confirm it is an old school mechanical timer. I've only had it a couple of weeks and haven't had a chance to try out the steam function but it's a pretty good dryer. I got it on the Home Depot website for $379 total including tax with free delivery. I couldn't pass up a steam dryer for that price!
