A few weeks ago I went to a warehouse sale at Rusmur Flooring to get a piece of outdoor carpet for my small back porch.
While I was there I ended up ordering this lovely Mohawk silk-weave nylon plush carpet for my living room. The old carpet was kinda dated being a rose colored sculpted plush, it was still in good shape for being 20 years old.
Today the new carpeting was installed, and the old carpet was saved so I can use it in my basement.

Now after the carpet I'm planning on getting the stone patterned vinyl flooring from Armstrong that is pictured below. The current floor there is a late 70s Congoleum vinyl that hadn't worn at all but is super dated

Sam, that new carpet is a dramatic improvement!

I like the stone pattern vinyl as well.  We put something similar in the master bath at our previous house.  One thing I learned about floor covering was that it's best to go with an irregular pattern because you can never be sure the walls and the cabinetry are plumb.

Looks very nice, but I personally don't like any carpet that shows vacuum marks or footprints. I want a multi-level loop type carpet.

Speaking of carpet, our historical society musuem is moving to a new building soon. It's an old armory built in 1924. Some of the rooms have carpet, and one was in really bad shape. One of the members contacted someone she knew that worked for a large carpet store, and they donated the carpet, and the guy did the labor for free. It's a Mohawk Ecoflex patterned loop type that comes in a 2' square modular form.

Sam,

I think the room looks great with the new carpeting. I also think the color really is nice as well!m The new floring replacing the older Congolium will be a good move. Sometimes a little bit of "lipstick and rouge" can enhance a space dramatically.

Nice improvements, it's amazing how much new flooring can change a room.

Nice vacuum, BTW, one of the best Hoover ever made.

Looks really good...  and  the artfully designed vacuum mark design too.

Looks great!  I miss having carpet but with 4 cats I don't dare put it back down.  We still have it in the bedrooms.

As a vacuum guy I LIKE the vacuum cleaner grooming marks-shows the floor has been vacuumed recently! And new carpets will need frequent vacuuming to get rid of the loose "fluff" in them. You have to lay in a large supply of bags--or use a dump bag since most of what you pick up is fluff.

I totally agree with most of the comments by other members. The new carpeting is very nice indeed and the Hoover Concept cleaner is an excellent way to care for it. I've had mine since it was new and would never part with it. Your choice for the vinyl flooring is an attractive one too. Many years ago my cleaning fanatic aunt and uncle had something similar. They used to periodically get down on their hands and knees and scrub the "grout" with toothbrushes. I tried to explain to them that it was a "printed" floor but they wouldn't believe me. I guess if it made them happy then what the hey?

The new carpeting looks great and I like your choice of flooring as well.
