The Custom Imperial washer actually had hot, warm, cool wash water temperatures, and maybe even medium and cold.  Robert has this set in turquoise. 

As far as checking the parking lot for trade-ins worthy of being rebuilt for the resale floor, a 58 matched set of Frigidaires was always the prize. Unimatics were easy to work on and after a good de-linting the Filtrator dryer normally didn't need all that much. All of the used appliances had to be guaranteed for 90 days so anything Frigidaire was a good choice. The 1958's were a good selling tool for the new stuff since Frigidaire was the store's main bread & butter. Salesmen could show customers how great 10+ year-old Frigidaire appliances looked. Of course the all-porcelain cabinets did that. They always cleaned up beautifully.
