Amusing ad reads:

"Size is 24 wide 15 high 17 deep. Made by Norelco and called the "Dial-A-Meal". To operate, you rotate the listed categories until you see the food group you are going to prepare. (Panels flip like the pages of an old jukebox.) Then you turn the dial raising an arrow until it points to the specific item you want to cook. Press the button and stand back. (I believe the door is made of bullet proof glass and not metal.) My roommates and I stood in front of this all thru college and now we each have a different super power.
You pay $30."

I was with Nate when he picked up one of these for $10 several years ago at a local thrift store.

I think he still has it as his daily driver.

Enough said!

I have a vintage Panasonic Recipe blender that operates the same way...you flip "menu cards" in the control panel window via a button.. then turn a dial til the pointer matches up with the item you're blending.

I wonder if the MW is a Panasonic.

Panasonic had the same feature.  Owners of the local Whirlpool dealer where I worked for a while had one.  It was a timing guide and also changed the power level between high and low per to which "page" the selector was rotated.
