Maybe the sink/dishwasher collectors know - is this rare and priced accordingly?

New in the box, yes.  Used and not even a mention whether the dishwasher works or not, no...  $150 or $200 might be more like it.

Is it 1940's, I would have guessed 50's

It looks like 50s but could be 40s

Too bad it is priced too high. I would love to have that in my future kitchen!

Very cute, but at least $900 too high.

It is 50s, not 40s.

I love Betty!

I love to watch those old commercials. Too bad westy got bought out. Eventually I'm going to make a video that covers their fridges and talks about their eventual buy out and demise. So sad.

A friend of mine, actually my beloved friend from the time she was my 8th grade homeroom teacher until she passed away 30 years later, built a new home in 1954 and put this machine in it. This is the one WH dw that had the metal impeller. Robert has or had one like it.
