At least it's not the 'court ordered by Hubby's divorce attorney' sale... LOL
I have to make some difficult choices and sadly the wheel of misfortune is pointing to 2 Canadian Westinghouse-built dishwashers.
Item 1 is the 1968 or 69 Eaton Viking (made by Westinghouse) white top-loader. I am the 2nd owner of this low-use machine that came from a seasonal residence in the Muskoka Lakes region of Ontario. It has 2-level spray arm and tower and has 5 wash cycles (Single Wash China/Glasses, Double Wash China/Glasses, Single Wash Mixed Loads, Double Wash Mixed Loads, Rinse and Hold). The Mixed Load cycles have the 'Westinghouse Pause' in the main wash cycle to boost the water temperature. The dishwasher works fine (pump has been rebuilt and lid springs repaired) and washes well. The drawback to this machine is that the upper rack is a 1-piece fixed style - this means you have to remove the whole rack to load the lower rack and unless you are really good at juggling cups and glassware it's a 'load it and run it' dishwasher. Good for holiday entertaining overflow, though! I'm asking $75 for this one.

Item 2 is a 1971 Westinghouse convertible-style front load portable dishwasher. Again, I am the 2nd owner of the machine and it is also a low-use machine. The dishwasher was bought by the children of a couple who maybe used it on holidays. It's in everyone's favourite colour, Avocado Green.... LOL The machine works perfectly also. It has a two-level washing system and 5 cycles similar to the Viking top-loader (Single Wash Normal, Double Wash Normal, Single Wash Sani, Double Wash Sani, Rinse & Hold). I'm asking $50 for this one.
Now the real problem - I live on the wrong side of the border from most members... However it is surprisingly easy to bring a used appliance like this over the border.
Please message me if you have any questions! And if you get any emails from Hubby offering up additional dishwashers, washers, or dryers tell him NO... LOL This post was last edited 05/08/2017 at 17:10 |
