And 'not taking any offers'....  Hope they like it enough to keep it after all!

Allis Chalmers!!!

I had an Alice Chalmers riding mower from the late 70s in bright orange. Took me forever to figure out the carburetor. I eventually made the old Briggs and Stratton engine drop a valve seat after I ran the engine on alcohol for a good while. At least the engine was clean.

The ad has already been taken down so I guess they really didn't want to sell it. I've heard of international harvester fridges but never Alice Chalmers. Very cool.

I have probably a dozen or so Allis Chalmers, and Simplicity tractors. They grow on you....

That Alice Chalmers...

Riding mower was built like a tank. You had a hard time pushing it. I believe it had an honest to god differential if I'm remembering right. At any rate it had a beefy transmission.

If it had a hydro trans, you need to release the hydro, before attempting to push it.

It was not a hydro

It had a three speed transmission I believe. You could almost feel the teeth of the gears meshing together.
