I got another question. My best friend has a old whirlpool washer( #LA5700XKWO) thas worked great till her neice overloaded it. We told her not to but. My friend played with it and got it working till it was overloaded again and stoped spinning. I checked the belt and it wasnt broke and was tight any ideas? I replaced it with a roper as it has a much much larger capacity but the old one looks great and I want it. Thanks for any ideas Oh the agitaer jerks when timer goes to spin but will wash like a champ

Check for a sock or other small item cought under the top ring and top of the tub. If there is nothing there remove the top tub ring and check for any item cought between the inner and outer tub. If nothing is visible make sure the clutch is disengaged and try turning the inner tub by hand (machine off of course). It should spin easily. If it doesn't the item may have got all the way down to the bottom of the tubs. This is a very common problem when people overload.
