Belt drive, direct drive was years later.  The pump runs in recirculation mode during agitation, pulling water out of the tub, through the filter unit, and back into the tub.  Water flow through the filter unit reverses direction during drain to flush the lint away.

Dryer drum looks hardly used. Very nice set with fluorescent panel lights! When did WP give up on tub lights in washers?

Those are Supreme models.  Supreme 80 for the washer.  I'd be surprised if they have fluorescent lights.  My paternal grandparents had that same dryer I believe, and a washer a few years newer than the one of sale but slightly older than the dryer (didn't have a filter light) and the temp/level knobs were separated like the dryer.  Both had incandescent backlights for only the timer.

My Supreme 80 dryer has fluorescent lighting, but it is not the same year. I guess it varied.

My dad's aunt had a late 1960s or early 1970s avocado model with the light lens under the console.  I don't recall if it was labeled Supreme.  Had 5 fixed water levels.  I found the owner manual in the cabinet above, which referenced a procedure to remove the lens to change the fluorescent bulb.  I checked and there was no bulb or sockets for one = disappointment.
