The washer looks like an A700, the predecessor of the A806.

Actually its a 1960 (or 1961?) 142, the predecessor to the A700.  

 

It does not have the rinse temp selector on the top of the control panel above the Maytag logo, like the 700/702.

 

They appear to be in great shape too!   Looks like a gas dryer.

Travis got a deal on the yellow pair at 1/10 the price of this set.  I doubt he'll have to spend $450 to get them operational.

What were the Maytags with the Water Level control on the underside of the lid like compared to these? I have a pair of these 700/702's and I think they're wonderful but I've always been curious about those earlier machines. I had a chance to buy one in 1995 at a used office furniture place in New Haven but I couldn't collect back then as I lived in a rental apartment. It was this one:
