I never saw any of these early Philco washers with the solid tub. The first ones I saw and worked on had perforated tubs. They washed, rinsed and spun out fairly well in my opinion. At least as well as many other machines at the time. The unique washing action was interesting. I thought it a shame when they quit making them at the end of the 60's. They only had about a 10 year run. The dryers were very slow drying though and since the washer extracted on about a par with Kenmore/Whirlpool, that took even longer. The dryers had a very inconvenient lint filter to get to and clean out too. They did make some very attractive looking machines though.
